The Arab Commission for Human Rights (ACHR) and the International Bureau for Humanitarian NGOs (IBH) are very preoccupied by the detention by Israeli occupation authority on the 6.6.2005 at 1:00 am, of our colleague Dr. Ahmad Maslamani, the general director of the Health Work Committees, at his home in Jerusalem, Beit Hanina.

A troop of Special Forces entered the house after midnight and arrested him in a very brutal way. The next day Dr. Maslamani was brought to court and the judge decided to postpone the ruling and to extend the arrest for two more days. Again the judge decided to postpone the ruling and extended the arrest for another two more days.

Dr. Maslamani was arrested before by the Israeli occupation authority and was imprisoned for 16 months. He was released in March 2003.

The ACHR and IBH consider the renewal arrest of Dr. Maslamani a severe harassment and a savage intervention in his private and his professional life.

We call on all national and international organizations to stand in solidarity with Dr. Maslamani as we demand his release immediately so that he can go back to his family, his patients and his work.
